Today on Far Future Horizons we present the grand finale of the History Channel’s epic documentary series Big History.

The final instalment is a two-hour special that caps off the 16-episode first season of H2's "Big History".

A Little Big History

This program illustrates the eight major "thresholds" or turning points that have made our universe and life on our planet possible.

It explores the past and future of the human species and its possible descendants beyond the Earth and out on the cosmic stage of the Universe at large. 

As well as the existential threats that life on Earth and humanity faced in the past and still face now and in the future. 

An effort to make Big History available worldwide is being funded by philanthropist Bill Gates. David Christian has named this effort the Big History Project.
