Today on Far Future History we present another exciting episode of the History Channel’s documentary series Big History.

This instalment of Big History explores a critical evolutionary step that shaped the human species when our Hominid ancestors added meat to their diet.

Eating meat made us human...by giving us bigger brains, better tools, and spoken language.

The human need for beef has driven history across the hemispheres, but how did we turn an ancient mega-beast into the cow we have today?

An effort to make Big History available worldwide is being funded by philanthropist Bill Gates. David Christian has named this effort the Big History Project.

This episode of Big History is available through Amazon Instant Video.
