Finding the New Earth

We are living in an age of great discovery and exploration. It took humans thousands of years to explore our own planet and centuries to comprehend the neighboring planets of our solar system.

Now new worlds are being discovered every week. To date, astronomers have identified more than 1,795 “Exosolar Planets” worlds orbiting stars other than our sun. The search for Earth-like planets is reaching a fever-pitch. Does the evidence so far help shed light on the ancient question: Is the galaxy filled with life, or is Earth just a beautiful, lonely aberration?

This and other exciting National Geographic Channel documentaries can be purchased from the National Geographic Channel's online store.
