Today on Far Future Horizons I decided to
post the following feature documentary ~ 'GAIA
SELENE'.
This documentary outlines just the type of space program we need to
help solve many of our earth bound problems. A Space program that is both
politically and economically sustainable as well justifiable. There are two and
a half ways to save the Earth and two of them are on the Moon. The half measure
that remains for us on Earth is to create a society committed to conservation
and creating a Zero Waste Culture totally dedicated to recovering its reusable
resources.
A new
technological study reveals that by the year 2050 we will need three times as
much primary power and it will have to be three times as clean. There is no
earthly technology now on line, or capable of coming on line by the year 2050,
that can help solve our energy and environmental problems.
This is program very reminiscent of that outlined by the late Gerald K O'Neill's in his book 'The High Frontier: Human Colonies in Space’. O’Neill’s book emphasized the role of space colonies in building space based solar power satellites to provide earth with a safe, clean and plentiful supply of renewable energy.

We can and will do it.
We have already spent a trillion dollars on space technology. Now it is time to
build on what we started forty years ago.

anything new. We can colonize the moon with current technology. In doing so, we
can save the earth.
