Our home galaxy is a crucible of creation and destruction. It is just one galaxy among billions and we are living at its very edge. 


The Milky Way is a brilliant tapestry of over one hundred billion suns and dust clouds which are the birth place of future generations of stars and planets. It is a place of extremes, where stars can drift lazily or be flung out at more than a million miles per hour. Now scientists have pierced the galaxy’s heart of darkness to penetrate the mystery of the Milky Way’s galactic core.
