Big History ~ Brain Boost

Today on Far Future Horizons we present the eighth episode of the History Channel’s documentary series “Big History” that presents History on a grand epic scale.

In this installment of Big History we look at the history behind the most popular drug in human history ~ Caffeine.

Behind that cup of coffee or tea is a global story that goes back to the collision that created the Moon and the evolution of plant and animal life.

The key is the molecule that gives your morning cup its kick: caffeine, the most popular drug in history.

The Boston Tea Party

This is the story of how a plant poison became our drug of choice, and stimulated revolutions around the planet.

An effort to make the Big History available worldwide is being funded by philanthropist Bill Gates. David Christian has named this effort the Big History Project.

This episode of Big History is available through Amazon Instant Video.
