Today on Far Future Horizons we present the seventh episode of the History Channel’s documentary series “Big History” that presents History on a grand epic scale.

In this installment of Big History we look at the history of warfare from a wider perspective.

Humans have small teeth and no claws or armor, so how do we project our power? Warfare has defined traditional history, but Big History digs deeper to reveal how it all began.

We see how bat poop and ancient trees shaped the history of weapons, and link the gun all the way back to a change in our bodies that turned us into throwing machines.

An effort to make the discipline available worldwide is being funded by philanthropist Bill Gates. David Christian has named this effort the Big History Project.
