A Tribute to Leonard Nimoy

“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."

Today on Far Future Horizons we pay tribute to Leonard Nimoy.

Leonard sadly passed away a year ago today on February 27th, 2015 due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a condition he attributed to a smoking addiction he had given up about 30 years earlier.

Star Trek -Beyond The Final Frontier



Star Trek: Beyond the Final Frontier, follows the creation, preparation and final execution of a highly-visible live auction of Star Trek props from all five series and movies by the auction house Christie's.


This documentary narrated by Leonard Nimoy, starts with a brief overview of the Star Trek series and movies.

It then describes how Paramount Pictures decided to partner with Christie's to release and sell a multitude of valuable Star Trek props to the general public to celebrate Star Trek’s fortieth anniversary.

Star Trek - Secrets of the Universe




In order to honor the memory of Leonard Nimoy, we present today on Far Future Horizons the History Channel documentary Star Trek - Secrets of the Universe.

This documentary coincided with the release of the motion picture, Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), the very last motion picture which Leonard Nimoy starred in and where he reprised his role as Mr. Spock.
