The Seven Wonders of Ancient Greece

Today on Far Future Horizons we take another voyage to antiquity and visit the birthplace of western civilization – Ancient Greece and its seven magnificent wonders.

In today’s documentary we will travel back in time to a land of breathtaking beauty, ancient intellect and philosophical wisdom.

Theatre of Epidaurus

This is the place where science, art and inspiration from the gods combined to produce some of the world’s greatest marvels of architecture and design.

Statue of Zeus

On this voyage through time we will visit the Theatre of Epidaurus, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, Apollo’s Temple at Delphi, the Colossus of Rhodes, the settlement at Santorini, the Palace of Knossos and surely the greatest masterpiece of them all the Parthenon.

We will also explore how such impressive feats of engineering were built at a time when technology was still supposedly in its infancy. Engineers and architectural experts detail the unique structural aspects that make each monument a wonder in there own right, while historians describe each of these “wonders” powerful role in ancient Greek life and society.

  1. Beautiful and sunny pictures and engaging facts, thanks you so much for sharing these. Brought me back to my summer in 2015 when I went to Greece for the first time. It literally became a breking point in my life, since then I'm only thinking and planning to get Greek residence permit for starters and settle there. Wish me luck!
